Florence “Marion” Emmerton (née Nicholson) of Kincardine, died with family by her side, at the South Bruce Grey Health Centre, Kincardine hospital, Tuesday, Oct. 24, 2017, at the age of 72. Beloved wife of Don Emmerton. Dear mother of Bruce Emmerton of Kincardine and Heather Poulin of Waterloo. Loving grandmother of Amber, Candace, and Emily; and great-grandson, Malcolm Lywood. Fondly remembered by her siblings, John Nicholson of Fort Nelson, B.C., Dianne Bath of Kincardine, Brenda (Guy) Wheeler of Waterloo, and Sandra (Steve) Little of Waterloo; and brother-in-law, Richard (Pat) Emmerton of Kincardine. Remembered by special uncle, Ken Hartwick of Cornwall. Also missed by Paul and Linda Cunliffe and family, and Jim Taylor and family, as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents, Mac and Florence Nicholson; and parents-in-law, Henry and Gerry Emmerton. Marion enjoyed singing with the Kincardine Celebration Singers and playing the Dobro with the band in that group, as well as with several other bands in the area. She was also an Avon representative for many years. Visitation will be held at the Davey-Linklater Funeral Home, Thursday, Oct. 26 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. The funeral will be held at the Anglican Church of the Messiah, Friday, Oct. 27, 2017, at 11 a.m., with Rev. Rob Hiscox officiating. Interment, Kincardine Cemetery. Memorial donations to the Kincardine and Community Health Care Foundation or a charity of your choice, would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy. |
