More than 250 youth, aged four to 12, learned several ways to stay safe, at the Progressive Agriculture Safety Days, held in Teeswater, Tiverton and Walkerton.

Organizer Dianne Atkinson said the Teeswater event, held July 9, drew 127 children; while the Tiverton safety day, held July 16, saw 42 children in attendance; and the Walkerton event, held July 23, drew 94 children.

In Tiverton, there were six stations set up:

  • Grey Bruce Public Health, hand-washing and safety from germs

Also helping with the stations in Teeswater and Walkerton, were the South Bruce Fire Department and the Brockton Fire Department.

Each participant in the safety day received a T-shirt and a goodie bag, as well as lunch and snacks during the day.
