Do you know someone who deserves recognition for exceptional contribution to Huron-Bruce?
In recognition of the coronation of King Charles III, May 6, 2023, a new Canadian commemorative medal has been created to honour outstanding citizens who have made a significant impact in their communities.
“We are seeking nominations for individuals of all ages and backgrounds who have made a difference in Huron-Bruce,” states Huron-Bruce MP Ben Lobb, in a press release issued Tuesday.
“Our riding is fortunate to have many community-minded people who selflessly contribute their time, talents, and energy to improve the lives of others. This is our opportunity to ensure these efforts are recognized.”
Nominations are open until Oct. 1, and can be submitted directly to Lobb’s constituency office.
To be eligible, nominees must be Canadian citizens or permanent residents, reside within Huron-Bruce, have made a significant contribution to the community, and have been alive May 6, 2023, the date of the coronation. Nominations can also be made posthumously, provided the individual was alive May 6, 2023.
Please note that self-nominations are not permitted.
Nominations must be supported by a nominator and can be submitted on-line at https://benlobb.com/coronation-medal or in hard copy to Lobb’s constituency office at 5101 Highway 21 South, Port Elgin, Ontario, or 30 Victoria St., Goderich, Ontario.
Supporting letters should clearly describe the nominator’s direct knowledge of the nominee’s contributions to the community and explain why the nominee deserves this recognition. You may also include newspaper articles or other materials that highlight the nominee’s impact. Incomplete applications will not be accepted, and nomination packages will not be returned once submitted.
“Let’s take this opportunity to recognize and celebrate the outstanding individuals who make Huron-Bruce a better place for all,” said Lobb.
