“Vintage Avro Arrow” is the next print in the South Bruce Grey Health Centre - Kincardine Hospital Auxiliary's Art/Easel Program fund-raiser.
On display at Sobeys Kincardine, this print features an image of Canada’s very first Avro Arrow RL-201 fighter jet plane with the blueprints placed behind it. The Arrow RL-201 flew for the first time, March 25, 1958, and was successful at breaking the sound barrier on its third flight.
The second print on display at Sobeys, is entitled “Kempenfelt Bay” by Group of Seven artist Lawren Harris. This is a limited edition print depicting trees overlooking Kempelfelt Bay. Harris is known for his northern landscapes and eventually stopped signing his paintings so that people would judge his works on their own merit.
The print at the Kincardine Hospital is entitled, “The Pines,” by Lawren Harris.
The print at Rona Kincardine is entitled, “The Northland,” by Group of Seven artist Tom Thomson.
The print at Boston Pizza in Kincardine is “Harbour Scene,” by Maud Lewis.
The starting bid for each print is $200, and they are on display until Thursday, Oct. 3.
