Dorothy Laura Ann Lotton (Huff) of RVilla, Ripley, died peacefully, May 22, 2017, at the South Bruce Grey Health Centre, Kincardine hospital, in her 82nd year. Left to mourn are her beloved husband, Blake Lotton; and her children, Ron (Gail) of Ripley, Cheryl (Dave Andrews) of Victoria Harbour, Carole (Kevin Benedict) of Kitchener, Ray (Carol) of Princeton, and Murray (Sarah) of Ripley. Cherished grandmother of Kathleen, Kendra, Emily, Blake, Ashley, Laura, Sandra, Kristopher, Jessica, Victoria, Trevor, Jacob, Noah and Curtis. Great-Gramma to Erin, Dana, Alexis, Spencer, Sebastian, Natailyn, Jeremy, Avery, Dominic, Abbigail, and foster great-grandchildren. Predeceased by her parents, John and Beatrice Huff; and in-laws, Norman and Helen Lotton. Dorothy was a dedicated farm wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She had a special place in her expansive heart for her grandchildren. She played a large part in their early years and they were the centre of her universe. She was content to feed anyone and everyone who entered her home. She loved a good card game, crafting blankets for the wee ones, and was a word search fanatic. Thank you to family, friends and neighbours who asked about her and supported her family during her battle with cancer. Thanks to Drs. Thomson, Kasianik, Moore and the specialists at the London Health Sciences Centre, as well as hospital staff for your kindness and expertise during Dorothy’s final journey. Thanks also to the caring staff at RVilla, Ripley. Visitation will be held at the MacKenzie and McCreath Funeral Home in Ripley, Wednesday, May 24, 2017, from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m., and one hour prior to the funeral which will be held at the funeral home at 2 p.m., Thursday, May 25, 2017. Final resting place, Ripley Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy. |
