DONALD ALEXANDER MacTAVISH

Donald Alexander MacTavish of Ripley died at the Kincardine hospital, June 1, 2017, at the age of 90. He was the beloved husband Anna (nee MacDonald) for 67 years. Dear dad of Barb (who predeceased him in 2007) and Charles Liddle of RR 1, Kincardine; Jean and Ian MacDonald, and Marg and Sandy Pollock, all of Ripley. Missed by his grandchildren, Kim Liddle, Kent (Nicole) Liddle, Jenny MacDonald, Melissa MacDonald (Shane Watson), Brett (Sarah) Pollock, Corey Pollock, Tyson (Amy) Pollock; and seven great-grandchildren. Survived by his brother-in-law, Stuart Schierholtz. Predeceased by sisters, Beth and Louise. Don was an active member of the Ripley community. He was a charter member of the Ripley and District Lions Club, joining in 1972. He belonged to the Ripley Agricultural Society for more than 60 years and received the Jubilee Award for more than 50 years of service. Don loved gardening and could often be found pulling weeds, with a smile. Visitation will be held at MacKenzie and McCreath Funeral Home, Ripley, Sunday, June 4, 2017, from 6-9 p.m. A Ripley Lions Club service will be held Sunday, June 4, 2017, at 5:45 p.m. The funeral will be held at St. Andrew's United Church, Ripley, Monday June 5, 2017, at 11 a.m. with visitation one hour prior. Pastor Ken Craig is officiating, and Shirley Harris is the organist. Interment, Ripley Cemetery.
