REBECCA WELSH WILSON

Rebecca Welsh Wilson, formerly of Kincardine, died at the South Bruce Grey Health Centre, Kincardine, Tuesday, July 25, 2017, at the age of 96. Beloved wife of the late Reeves Wilson. Dear mother of Leon Wilson and his friend, Nancy Pilcher, and Heather Struthers and her husband, Doug, all of Kincardine. Missed by her grandchildren, Pam McCurry (Bruce), Tricia Wilson (Kevin Dyck), Jamie Wilson (Shona), Melissa Wilson (Matthew), Ian Struthers (friend Sarah Cook) and Robert Struthers (fiancée Lauren Stephens), as well as seven great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Fondly remembered by several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents, John and Jennie (née Cameron) Sorbie; son, Cameron Wilson; and sister, Bessie Osborne; and brothers, John Sorbie and Alex Sorbie. A Second World War veteran, Rebecca served in the Women's Auxiliary Air Force Scotland from 1941-44. She was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 183, Kincardine, for 40 years, and received the Order of Kincardine from the Municipality of Kincardine in 2011. A celebration of Rebecca’s life will take place at the Kincardine Legion, 219 Lambton Street, Kincardine, Sunday, July 30, 2017, from 1-4 p.m., with a Legion Memorial Service at 1 p.m. Final resting place, Kincardine Cemetery. Memorial donations to Knox Presbyterian Church, Kincardine, the Kincardine and Community Health Care Foundation or the Grey Bruce Animal Shelter would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
