JANE EVELYN VanSICKLE

Jane Evelyn VanSickle died peacefully in London, Wednesday, July 26, 2017, with her children and Brian by her side. She was 66. Predeceased by her parents, Grant and Edna VanSickle; and her daughter, Rachel. Survived by her loving life partner, Brian Hollywood; and her children, Russ (Kyla), Ange (Andy), Mark, Becca (Mike), and Steven (Jaime). Jane leaves behind 15 grandchildren who adored her: Lily, Leah, Clare, Will, Cohen, Gwyneth, Owen, Jakob, Zakary, Jazmin, Jayna, Myla, Ariella, Carter and Madelyn. She will be greatly missed by her brothers and sisters, Cathy (Darcy), Peter (Bev), Brian (Margaret Ann), and Donna (Derek). Jane will be fondly remembered by nieces, nephews and many friends. Jane was named to the Ripley Wolves Senior “A” hockey club's Wall of Fame in 2015. One of the original members of the Wolves executive when the team was resurrected in 2002, she worked diligently to recruit sponsors, convincing them the team was back in business and loaded with local talent. She served as the Wolves secretary, keeping the new executive on track in its early days and helping to lay a strong foundation that the current executive still relies on today. She also owned and operated Curves for Women in downtown Kincardine for a number of years before retiring. Jane was a staple in her community and she will be greatly missed. Visitation will be held at the MacKenzie and McCreath Funeral Home, Ripley, Sunday, July 30, 2017, from 2-5 p.m., with vigil prayers immediately to follow. Funeral Mass celebrated at St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church, Kincardine, Monday July 31, 2017, at 11 a.m. Interment, Ripley Cemetery. Donations to the North Mountain Animal Sanctuary or Spinal Cord Injury Ontario, would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
