Carolyn Shewfelt of Kincardine died peacefully at the South Bruce Grey Health Centre, Kincardine, Monday, Aug. 7, 2017, in her 73rd year. Cherished wife of Lynn Shewfelt of Kincardine. Dear mother of Laurie (Scott) Starra of Kitchener, Brad (Jessica) Knechtel of London; stepmom of Jay Shewfelt of Windsor, Janette (Derick) McGee of Orillia, and Jill Shewfelt (Matt Bennett) of Whistler, B.C. Beloved "Nana" of Chloe, Meg, Ariel, Lola and Sailor. Missed by sister Joyce (Dave) Walsh of Kincardine, brothers-in-law Gord Appleton of Port Dover, Wayne (Carol) Shewfelt of Tavistock and Blayne (Patsy) Shewfelt of Kincardine. Also missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Predeceased by her parents, Carl and Gladys Funston; and her sister, Barbara Appleton. Visitation will be held at the Davey-Linklater Funeral Home, Kincardine, Thursday, Aug, 10, 2017, from 2 -4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. The funeral will be held at the Pine River United Church, Friday, Aug. 11, 2017, at 11 a.m. with Rev. Vicki Johnson officiating. Interment Kincardine Cemetery. Memorial donations to the Schizophrenia Society of Ontario or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
