George James Cassidy of Kincardine died suddenly, Saturday, July 25, 2026 in Kincardine, at the age of 74. Lovingly remembered by his daughters, Claire (Tyler) and Katrina; and his grandchildren, Jackson John, Grayson George, Cassidy Ann and Lilith Rose; as well as some very close family members, including Theresa, Jeff, Pam, Vijay, Shane, Yogi and families. Also survived by his siblings, Francis (Betty), Catherine (Andrew), Jeffrey and Thomas, all of Glasgow. Predeceased by his parents, Frank and Patricia Cassidy. Born Sept. 14, 1951, in Glasgow, Scotland, George came to Canada in 1973 after completing his electrical apprenticeship. He married in 1982 and went on to have two daughters who were his pride and joy. George was a private, intelligent man with a very witty sense of humour. His humour, given in just the right moment, brought warmth and laughter to those around him. Along with his sharp wit, it was his love of family and friends that truly defined him and made him so special to the people who cared for him. He loved soccer, especially Glasgow Celtic, and followed the game with the loyalty of someone whose roots always remained close to home. He was an avid reader who appreciated the quiet pleasure of a good book. George's passing leaves a deep and profound sadness to those family and friends he leaves behind. He will be loved and remembered always. The memorial service will be held Sunday, Aug. 2, 2026, at 2 p.m., at the Davey-Linklater Funeral Home, Kincardine.
