The family of Michael Allan "Mike" Goetz of Lucknow is heartbroken to announce the sudden death of their dear husband and father, Thursday, Sept. 14, 2017, at Wingham and District Hospital. He was 65. Mike will be greatly missed by his wife, Laurie (Chisholm) Goetz; son, Brian (fiancée Spencer Dempsey), and twin daughters, Robin (partner, Dave Lauzon) and Michelle (partner, Devin Moffatt). Beloved 'Papa' will also be missed by his grandson, Declan. Mike is survived by his sister, Joanne (partner, Sean Kennedy); brothers, Frank (wife, Karen), Jack, Tom (wife, Elizabeth), Danny, and Paul (partner, Shelby); and several nieces and nephews. He will also be missed by his in-laws, Linda Splan, Peter Chisholm (wife, Helen), Mark Chisholm (wife, Patti), Brenda Berry (husband, Steve), Sally Chisholm, Cathy Hinschberger (husband, Dan), Dorrie Chisholm and Neil Bieman. Predeceased by his parents, Joan and Lorne Goetz (of Mildmay); in-laws, Wilma and Grant Chisholm (of Lucknow); late wife, Anne Wyvill; brother-in-law, Bill Chisholm; and sister-in-law, Nancy Bieman. Visitation will be held at the Kingsbridge Community Centre (84675A Bluewater Veterans Highway, RR 3, Goderich) from 10 a.m. to Noon, Tuesday, Sept. 19, 2017, followed by the funeral Noon. A celebration of Mike’s life will continue after the service at the former Chisholm Camp. One of Mike's greatest passions was camping, and in lieu of flowers, donations to Solitude Nature Reserve (www.solitudenaturereserve.com) would be graciously accepted. |
