Robert Wells of Port Elgin died suddenly Wednesday, Nov. 1, 2017, at Grey Bruce Health Services, Southampton, in his 69th year. Loving husband of Elizabeth (nee Clarke). Loving father of Scott and his wife, Tabitha; and Mark. Dear brother of Bev and her husband, John Carr. Beloved son-in-law of Rev. David and Margaret (Peggy) Clarke.
Bob was a loving brother-in-law of 10, and will be fondly remembered by 25 nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents, Orval and Mildred Wells. Bob was a professional engineer and belonged to the Georgian Bay Chapter of the Professional Engineers of Ontario, and the Society of Engineering Professionals at Bruce Power. He loved helping others and particularly enjoyed inspiring youth to seek careers in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM). To that end, he was the jovial MC (right) at the second annual Mathletics competition, held at the Bruce Power Visitors' Centre, Oct. 14. Visitation was held Sunday, Nov. 5, 2017, at the T.A. Brown Funeral Home, Port Elgin. The celebration of life was held Monday afternoon, Nov. 6, 2017, at the Port Elgin United Church.
