ROBERT "BOB" WILLIAM WHITE

Robert “Bob” William White of Kincardine, died peacefully at home, surrounded by family, Thursday, Nov. 23, 2017, in his 76th year. Beloved husband of Betty Jean White (nee Hodgins) for 54 years. Cherished father of Cheryl and Dan Anderson of Plattsville, Marilyn Crewe of Neepawa, MB, and Andrew and Heather White of Kincardine. Loving grandfather and great-grandfather of Graham, Ally, Cohen and Elora Crewe; Brittany, Christo and Pearl Bezuidenhout; Jason Leiskau and fiancee Megan Stansfield; Josh Leiskau; Jessica Leiskau; Nicole Anderson and Will Hebbes; Luke, Bethany and Corbin Anderson; Alex, Ben and Susie White. Dear brother of Mildred Onley and David Lewis of Callander. Missed by his Aunt Largaret McInnes of Kincardine, brothers- and sisters-in-law Ron and Linda Hodgins, Keith and Gladys Hodgins, Burt and Maria Hodgins, Merv and Janet Hodgins, many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Predeceased by his son, Michael White; brother, Richard White; parents, William and Pearl White; also by parents-in-law, Burton and Elva Hodgins; sisters- and brother-in-law Lynn Hodgins, Mary and Ken Robinson. Bob was a life-long farmer and steward of the land, and member of St. Matthew's Anglican Church, Kingarf. He was keenly interested in municipal politics and served more than 20 years on council in the former Kincardine Township and the Municipality of Kincardine. As a school bus driver, he safely transported two generations of young people to high schools in Kincardine and Walkerton. He was an active member of the Bruce County Cattleman's Association and, in recent years, of the Kincardine Agricultural Society – executive, 4-H leader and overseer of the beef classes at the fall fair. Bob and Betty Jean enjoyed travelling, especially road trips throughout Canada. The funeral was held at the Davey-Linklater Funeral Home, Kincardine, Monday, Nov. 27, 2017, with Rev. Rob Hiscox officiating. Serving as pallbearers were Graham Crewe, Jason Leiskau, Christo Bezuidenhout, Luke Anderson, Allard Eisen and Richard Eickmeyer. Flowerbearers were Brittany Bezuidenhout, Jessica Leiskau, Megan Stansfield and Bethany Anderson. Final resting place, Kincardine Cemetery.rn
