Bruce Alexander McInnis of Kincardine and formerly of London, died at the Kincardine hospital, Thursday, Nov. 30, 2017, in his 86th year. Amazing husband to Barbara McInnis (née Daniel) for 62 years; the couple was seldom apart. Great dad to Victoria (Mike Hansen) McInnis of Ottawa, John (Karen) McInnis of Sarnia, and Elizabeth (Scott) Maccabe of London. Super brother to Shirley (Balfour) McLean of Toronto, and brother-in-law of Doreen McInnis of Brampton. Predeceased by his parents, Donald and Edna (née Vance); and brother, Jack McInnis. Grandchildren Erika Hansen, Laurel McInnis, Elise McInnis and Justin Maccabe will all miss him dearly but they have great memories from cottage visits, family get-togethers and their grandpa cheering for them in their efforts in sports, music, and performance. All the kids are good skaters, thanks to Bruce. Bruce’s passions included playing hockey, watching the Toronto Maple Leafs, and loving Lake Huron. He had a zest for water, and regularly pulled off the road to watch lake freighters. Many times, Bruce watched a storm coming in off the lake until he was almost soaked through from the rain. Visitation will be held at the Davey-Linklater Funeral Home, Kincardine, Sunday, Dec. 3, 2017, from Noon to 1 p.m., followed by the memorial service at 1 p.m. Final resting place, Kincardine Cemetery. Memorial donations to the Kincardine and Community Health Care Foundation or Knox Presbyterian Church, Kincardine, would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy. You can also think of Bruce the next time you hear his favourite song, the theme song to "Hockey Night in Canada!" |
