Janet Victoria MacKenzie (née Reid) of Tiverton, died at the South Bruce Grey Health Centre, Kincardine, Friday, Jan. 19, 2018, in her 95th year. Beloved wife of the late John MacKenzie (2016) and the late Jack Gazel (1965). Cherished mother of Carmen Gazel of Tiverton, Cora Lee (Norman) Dobson of RR3, Tiverton, Barbara Poole of London, and Betty (John) Johnston of Kincardine. Cherished grandmother of 12 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Predeceased by her parents, Elmer and Mary (née Begg) Reid; brothers, Earl, John and Keith Reid; sisters, Marie Gottschalk and Florence Farrell; and daughter-in-law, Patricia Gazel. Janet was a hard worker in her community of Bruce Township and Tiverton. She was a member of the Tiverton Agricultural Society and served as homecraft division president. She was also a member of Knox Presbyterian Church, Tiverton. For the past few years, she lived at Tiverton Park Manor, and enjoyed the activities there. Visitation will be held at Knox Presbyterian Church, Tiverton, Monday, Jan. 22, 2018, from 10 a.m. to Noon, where the funeral will follow at 12:30 p.m., with Rev. David Chang officiating. Spring interment, Kincardine Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Knox Presbyterian Church, Tiverton, would be appreciated as expression of sympathy. |
