It is with deepest regret that the family of Rev. Robert (Bob) Putman announces his sudden and peaceful death in Lindsay, Monday, April 2, 2018, at the age of 72. Born in Cambridge (Galt), he was the son of Ada and Charles Putman (deceased). Cherished husband of Pamela (Doerr) for 49 years. Dearly missed by his sons, Andrew (Gina) and Aaron (Cathy); granddaughters, Alexandra, Hailey, Charlotte and Kaitlyn; sister, Beverley Montague (Colin); sisters- and brothers-in-law, Susan Eby (John), Michael Doerr (Wendy) and Janet Doerr; and several nieces and nephews. Bob received his Bachelor of Arts degree at the University of Waterloo in 1968 and a Master of Divinity from the University of Toronto (Emmanuel College) in 1972, after which he was ordained into the United Church of Canada. He served 40 years in the pastoral charges of Pincher Creek United Church, Alberta; Pine River and Bethel United Churches, Central United Church, and Grand Bend United Church, all in Ontario. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held at Pine River United Church (pineriverunitedchurch.ca), Saturday, April 21, 2018, at 12:30 p.m., with the Celebration of Bob's Life following at 2 p.m., with Rev. Vicki Johnson and Rev. Doug Kaufman officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Pine River United Church, the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Kidney Foundation, would be appreciated by the family. |
