MARY "AUDREY" CURRIE (née ARMSTRONG)

Mary Audrey Currie (née Armstrong), formerly of Purple Grove and Kincardine, died peacefully at her daughter’s home in Cheltenham, Thursday, May 10, 2018, in her 93rd year. Beloved wife of the late Frank Currie (1984). Loving mother of Brenda Girvan (Ed) of Teeswater, and Darlene Hartung (Roger) of Cheltenham. Missed by her grandchildren, Scottie Girvan of Elk Lake, Northern Ontario, Padraigin Murphy of Toronto, and James Murphy (Sara) of Oakville. Audrey was looking forward to the arrival of her first great-grandson in August. Fondly remembered by her brother, Keith Armstrong of Ripley; sister, Bernice Hartwick of London; nieces and nephews, extended family, and members of the Currie and Walsh families. Predeceased by infant son, Stephen; parents, Oscar and Ella (née Harrison) Armstrong; and brother, Myles Armstrong. Visitation will be held at the Davey-Linklater Funeral Home, Kincardine, Sunday, May 13, 2018, from 6-9 p.m.; and Monday, May 14, 2018, from Noon until 1 p.m. The funeral to honour Audrey’s life, will follow at 1:30 p.m., with Glen Morris United Church minister and close family friend, Meghan Gilholm, officiating. Interment, Kincardine Cemetery. Memorial donations to the Purple Grove Community Centre or the Children’s Wish Foundation, would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
