Agnes “Irene” Gowing (née Curle), of Tiverton died, with family by her side, Monday, Oct. 22, 2018, in her 91st year. Beloved wife of the late Howard Gowing. Loving mother of John (Katherine) Gowing of Tiverton. Devoted Nana of Susan Gowing of Durham, Andrew (Rowan) Gowing of Ottawa, and Leanne Gowing of Tiverton. Predeceased by her parents, William and Elizabeth Curle; siblings, Jean (Alex) Marshall and Robert Curle; and three brothers- and sisters-in-law. She was a wonderful, spunky, determined lady with a great sense of humour and a bright outlook on life. She and Howard worked in partnership for 50 years, building a family and running multiple businesses. Interment will take place at the Tiverton Cemetery, Friday, Nov. 9, 2018, at 10 a.m. Visitation will be held at the Davey-Linklater Funeral Home, Kincardine, following the interment, from Noon to 1:30 p.m.. The memorial service to celebrate Irene’s life, will be held at 2 p.m. in the chapel. Memorial donations to Knox Presbyterian Church, Tiverton, or Tiverton Park Manor Residents' Activity Fund, would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy. |
