Jack William Hayes of RR 3, Lucknow, died at the South Bruce Grey Health Centre - Kincardine hospital, Nov. 3, 2018, at the age of 66. Beloved husband of Rose (Wain) for 44 years. Dear son of Marion Hayes of Goderich. Missed by his children, Jim of Kincardine, Art and Denise of Ailsa Craig, and Mary Beth at home. Loved papa of Samantha, Julie, and Julie's brother, Harlan. Survived by his siblings Betty and Tom Brown of Owen Sound, Kathy and Maurice Thiebault of Linwood, Maurice and Lorna of Alberta, Linda and John Ashworth of London, and Sue and Len Kunkel of Mitchell; and by his in-laws, John and Dianne Wain of Auburn, Cynthia and Bill Kolkman of Alberta, and Sarah and Jeff Cox of Bracebridge. Predeceased by his father, James; brother, Allen; his parents-in-law, Sam and Phyllis Wain; sister-in-law, Mary Wain; and brothers-in-law, Fred Wain and Rick Brown. Jack was a long-time, dedicated member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 309, Lucknow. He loved his family, and could often be found puttering away on projects, wandering through the fields or relaxing as he mowed the lawn. A Legion Branch 309 service will be conducted at MacKenzie and McCreath Funeral Home, Lucknow, Thursday Nov. 8, 2018, at 5:45 p.m. Visitation will be held Thursday, Nov. 8, 2018, from 6-9 p.m., and Friday, Nov. 9, 2018, one hour prior to the funeral which will be conducted at Noon. Interment, Lochalsh Cemetery. Memorial donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 309, Lucknow, would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy. |
