Clarence “George” McBride of Listowel, formerly of Lucknow, died peacefully at home, Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2018, in his 82nd year. He leaves behind his devoted wife, Donna Lee (Shisler) McBride. Father of George and Anne McBride of Kincardine; Dianne and Robert Godglick of Cambridge; Molly and Dennis Hodgins of Chilliwack, B.C.; Kelly and Daniel Kennedy of Jerusalem, Israel; Richard McBride of Mission, B.C.; and Connie Smith of Lucknow. Grandfather of Tyler Phillips, Jaclyn, Danielle and Luke McBride, Josh (Ella), Kiera, Lucas and Meagan Smith, and Govan Kennedy; and great-grandfather of Jocelyn Smith. Brother of Ray and Sharon McBride, Marie and Sam Templeton, Jack and Mary McBride, Donald and Stephanie McBride, and the late Jean McBride. Remembered by Donna’s family, David and Marie Claude Clark (James and Emma) of Tottenham, Christopher Clark of Mount Forest, and Jay and Vicki Clark of Alliston. George was born in Toronto, Dec. 8, 1937, to Clarence and Ruby (Evans) McBride. He was a proud farmer on the Lucknow farm for more than 44 years. Visitation will be held at the Eaton Funeral Home, Listowel, Thursday, Dec. 27, 2018, from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m., where the funeral will be held Friday, Dec. 28, 2018, at 11 a.m., with Pastor Mike Hutchinson officiating.
