Eileen Black (nee Holmes) died peacefully at Trillium Court Seniors' Community, Kincardine, Thursday, Feb. 7, 2019, in her 96th year. Beloved wife of the late Gordon Black (1988). Dearly loved by her children, Bev Pollock (Wayne), Douglas, Richard (Sandy Wallace), Robert, Thomas (Karen Ellis) and Ralph. Remembered fondly by her nine grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren. She is survived by two sisters, Dorothy Underhill and Elizabeth Beros; and one brother, Douglas. Predeceased by her parents, Fred and Edna Holmes; and two siblings, Horace and Ruth. Eileen was born and lived all her life in Kincardine. One of her favourite activities was walking the lakeshore boardwalk and Lovers Lane, with a group of friends that varied in size and members, for more than 20 years. She is remembered as a strong and excellent ice skater, and bowled in a league for many years. A private service of remembrance will be held at a later date. Final resting place, Kincardine Cemetery.
