KENNETH "KEN" ELWOOD ZURBRIGG

Kenneth “Ken” Elwood Zurbrigg of Kincardine, died suddenly and unexpectedly, Monday, Feb. 18, 2019, at the age of 78. Cherished husband and best friend of Kendra Zurbrigg (née Davidson). Beloved father of Julie Zurbrigg and Kathy (Chris Lee) Zurbrigg; and step-father of Michele Lee, Kelly Krauter, and Curtis Krauter. Missed by his grandchildren, Hannah Large, Rory Large, Paige Zurbrigg, Leah Zurbrigg and Cecilia Lee. Fondly remembered by his brother, Lyle (Jennifer) Zurbrigg; sisters, Shirley (Glenn) Lamb and Thelma Bode; sister-in-law, Donna Riddell; brothers-in-law, Gerald (Verna) Schenk and Garnet (Alice) Schenk; and mother-in-law, Gertrude Davidson. He will be missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Predeceased by his wife, Joan Zurbrigg (née Schenk); parents, Cecil and Mabel Zurbrigg; and brothers-in-law, Don Bode and Ken (Wilma) Schenk. Ken was a home builder and general contractor, operating his own company, Ken Zurbrigg Contracting Ltd., in Kincardine. He was a car buff, and one of the many dedicated volunteers who helped restore the Walker House in Kincardine. Visitation will be held at the Davey-Linklater Funeral Home, Kincardine, Thursday, Feb. 21, 2019, from 6-8 p.m. The funeral will be held at the funeral home, Friday, Feb. 22, 2019, at 1 p.m., with Rev. Gord Dunbar officiating. A celebration of Ken’s life will be held in the spring for those family and friends who are unable to attend the funeral. Final resting place, Kincardine Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Kincardine United Church or Kincardine Ministerial Food Bank, would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
