Clifford Franklin “Cliff” Buckingham of Kincardine, a veteran of the Second World War, died at Trillium Court, Thursday, Feb. 28, 2019, in his 98th year. Loving husband of the late Eleanor McKay and Helen Harrison. Cherished father of Lois Dwan of Kincardine, Robert of Toronto, Kenneth (Sharon) of Kincardine, and Ronald (Jeannette) of Kitchener. Dear brother of Lloyd (Agnes) of Lucknow, and Kerry (Shirley) of Pembroke. Loved grandfather of Christina, Lisa, Sarah, and Adam; and great-grandfather of Reid. Also missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Predeceased by his son, Roy; and brother, Francis. Cliff served in the Second World War and was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 183, Kincardine, for more than 50 years. In 2016, he received his 50-year membership medal, and he attended the annual Remembrance Day services faithfully every year. He also received the Order of Kincardine medal for his service to his country. Cliff lived at Trillium Court Seniors' Community, Kincardine, for several years and always enjoyed the activities there, lighting up the room with his smile. Visitation will be held at the Davey-Linklater Funeral Home, Kincardine, Sunday, March 3, 2019, from 1–5 p.m., where the funeral will be held Monday, March 4, 2019, at 1 p.m., with Rev. Rob Hiscox officiating. A Legion service will be held Sunday, March 3, 2019, at 12:30 p.m., at the funeral home. Final resting place, Kincardine Cemetery. Memorial donations to the Anglican Church of the Messiah or the Kincardine and Community Health Care Foundation, would be appreciated as expression of sympathy. |
