Jessie “Marie” Cooper (nee Keith) died peacefully and with dignity, in her home at Trillium Court Seniors' Community, Kincardine, Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2020. In August, she celebrated her 100th birthday in the company of her many friends and family members. She and her husband, Jack (d. 2003), farmed for many years on Concession 9, and their home was well known for its hospitality. Her family admires her hard work and tenacity and will miss her love, kindness and generosity. Marie is survived by her sons, Eldon (Brenda Fitzgerald) Cooper of Tillsonburg and Donald Carl (Betty) Cooper of Woodstock; her daughter, Bonnie (Terry) Colwell of Kincardine; and her "adopted" son, Casey (Marcie) Pouw of Walkerton. She held a very special place in her heart for her grandchildren, Andrea and Mark, Michael, Dionne, Lisa and Emanuel, Dan and Sheila, Jo-Anne and Neil, Martha and Sam, and Terra; and her 13 great-grandchildren. Marie and Jack loved dancing and travelling. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and bid euchre, but she'll be best remembered for welcoming everyone into her home. She dearly loved her Trillium Court family; in particular, the staff whose love for her was so generously reciprocated, especially in recent weeks. Visitation will take place at the Davey-Linklater Funeral Home, Kincardine, Friday, Jan. 24, 2020, from 5-7 p.m., and Saturday, Jan. 25, 2020, from 12-1 p.m. The Celebration of Life will follow at 1:30 p.m., with Rev. Rob Hiscox as officiate. In Marie's memory, donations may be made to the Kincardine and Community Health Care Foundation, or St. Matthew’s Anglican Church, Kingarf.
