Gordon Edward Cayley of Lucknow, beloved husband of Laura Lee for 62 years, died at Pinecrest Manor, Sunday, May 24, 2020, at the age of 84. Born in Norwich, Ontario, Dec. 18, 1935, he was the son of the late Walter and Mary Cayley. Loved by his children, Eric of Lucknow, Mary Lynn (Kazem) Zardkanlou of Kitchener, and David (Laura) of Orangeville. Greatly missed by his grandchildren, Lisa (Ed) Courtney, Stephanie (Dustin) McLean, Gord (Jessica) and Naveed Zardkanlou, Sophie and Allie Cayley, and Avery and Blake Russell; and great-grandchildren, Marlee, Josh, Macey, Zoey and Zack. Brother of Walt and his wife, Barb of Norwich; and brother-in-law of Janice Swanton of Mildmay. Remembered by Betty Jean McLean of Lucknow. Predeceased by his sister, Judy Cayley; daughter-in-law, Jennifer Cayley; and brothers-in-law, Wayne and Richard Swanton. Gordon first taught in Oakville, and then from 1969-1993, he taught industrial arts at Lucknow Central Public School where he also led the Lucknow School Concert Band. He was a member of the Lucknow United Church and always took an active interest in, and concern for, his community and country. A private family service will be held at the MacKenzie and McCreath Funeral Home, Lucknow, with a celebration of life at a later date. Interment, Norwich Gore Cemetery, Norwich.
