Mary Elizabeth Culbert (née Macpherson) of Ripley died peacefully after a short illness, May 30, 2020, at the South Bruce Grey Health Centre, Kincardine, in her 87th year. She was predeceased by Murray Culbert, her beloved husband of 63 years, in September, 2018; and her brother, John of Vancouver. Loving mother of Helen Orr (Dale) of Kincardine, Paul (Ethel) of Woodbridge, and Ian (Gilles) of Ottawa. Cherished grandmother of Nolan, Brendan, Matthew, Justin and Nadia. Sister of Sandy Macpherson of Oshawa. Born in Kincardine, the daughter of Frank and Ella Macpherson, Mary was an unlikely candidate for a farmer’s wife in Huron Township. She took up the challenge and excelled at it. She loved to spend time in her flower and vegetable gardens, she was a fantastic cook and baker (her butter tarts were the best!), and only her immediate family knew just how funny she could be. She will be missed immensely. A private funeral and interment ceremony has been held at the Ripley-Huron Cemetery; arrangements entrusted to the MacKenzie and McCreath Funeral Home, Ripley. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Kincardine and Community Health Care Foundation would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy. Condolences and donations on-line at
