Anna "Pearl" MacKay (Kobe) of Ripley died at University Hospital, London, Dec. 1, 2020, at the age of 93. Beloved wife of Allister MacKay for 71 years. Dear mother of Judy Finlayson of Walkerton, Nancy (Edward) Brown of Lucknow, Margaret (Kevin) Moorehouse of Calgary, Elizabeth (Dennis) Fry of Cargill, and Allison (Paul) Wilken of RR1, Kincardine. Missed by her 12 grandchildren, and 20 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by her parents, Annie (Schuknecht) and Daniel Kobe; her brothers, Ken, Dave, Harry, and Dan; sister, Ruby Schmidt; and son-in-law, Bill Finlayson. Pearl was a busy farm wife and mother. She developed a keen interest in art and was an exceptional artist, herself. Her talents included oil-painting, making and painting china, folk art, and painting Christmas decorations. She was also very interested in family history and spent hours researching family trees and genealogy. This led her to become a long-time member of the Bruce County Historical Society. Her greatest joys were her grandkids. She always wanted to know how all the kids were and what they were up to.
