Donald “Danny” Mackenzie Boyd of Ripley, died Oct. 28, 2021, at the Kincardine hospital. He was 62. Beloved husband of Mel Lomugda and daughter, Fiona, of Toronto. Greatly missed by his children, Alicia (R.J. Smiley), Christopher (Danielle Stephen), Natalie, and Ashley (Teil Pitblado). Survived by his parents, Glenn and Anne Boyd of Kincardine. Remembered by his siblings, Heather Boyd, Kathryn (Andris) Freimanis, and Alec (Shannon) Boyd. Also missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Dan’s career with the Goderich Salt Mine spanned 40 years but his true calling was farming - raising sheep for many years, and later cash-cropping. He was proud to raise his kids on the farm. He enjoyed reading, spending time with his grandchildren, Klayton and Cayley; and weekends in Toronto with his wife, Mel. The family thanks Ollie Regier and the staff at the Kincardine hospital for their compassionate end-of-life care. A heartfelt thank you to family, friends and the community for the support, flowers and food deliveries. Following Dan’s request, cremation has taken place, and private family arrangements have been entrusted to the MacKenzie and McCreath Funeral Home, Ripley. Interment, Ripley Cemetery.
