Leo Selent of RR 1, Lucknow, died peacefully, April 26, 2022, at Braemar Long Term Care in Wingham. He was 93. Born Feb. 22, 1929, in Poland, he was the son of the late Gustav and Adeleine (Ryell) Selent who had immigrated to Janetville, Ontario. Also predeceased by his brother, Alveen; and a son, Eric. Survived by his wife of 69 years, Hilda (Tychler) Selent; and four children: sons, Gerry and John Selent of Lucknow; and daughters, Edith (Daved) Adams of Ethel, and Cathy Baker of Fergus; as well as his grandchildren, Paul, Brian and Chris Adams; and great-grandchildren, Allen, Aurora, Chelsea, Lindsay, Mishca and William. Also survived by his brother, Helmet Selent, and sister, Freida Jauch, both of Janetville; and nieces, Angie and Alexandria. The funeral will be held at the MacKenzie and McCreath Funeral Home, Lucknow, Saturday, April 30, 2022, at 2 p.m., with visitation one hour prior. Interment, South Kinloss Cemetery, Lucknow. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Alzheimer Society or St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church in Molesworth, would be greatly appreciated.
