DRINKING DRIVER STOPPED
(HURON TWP, ON) – July 8, at 2:38 a.m., a South Bruce OPP officer on patrol along Bruce County Road 86 in Huron Township, stopped a black Ford Ranger.
The officer found open alcohol in the vehicle. The driver, 31-year-old Robert COLLINS of Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh Township, was charged with drive with open liquor and drive while under suspension.
POLICE LOOKING FOR STOLEN CANOE
(WALKERTON, ON) – July 7, at 4:19 p.m., the South Bruce OPP received the report of a theft from a residence along Colborne Street South in Walkerton.
Sometime between 12 a.m. July 5, and 4 p.m. July 7, a red 15 ½-foot Canadian Tire-brand canoe was taken from the owner’s yard. The value of the stolen canoe is estimated to be $600.
NO INJURIES AT TWO-VEHICLE CRASH
(WALKERTON, ON) – July 7, at 11:56 a.m., the South Bruce OPP received the report of a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Durham Street East and Jackson Street in Walkerton.
Officers arrived to find that a white Honda Civic had turned onto Jackson Street North and struck a green Toyota Camry. The driver of the Civic, a 62-year-old Brockton woman, was charged with unsafe turn. There were no injuries reported at the scene.
DRIVER AIRLIFTED AFTER SINGLE-VEHICLE CRASH
(HURON TWP, ON) – July 3, at 8:29 p.m., the South Bruce OPP received the report of a single-vehicle crash along Highway 21 in Huron Township.
Officers arrived to find that a grey Ford Escape had left the roadway and was stopped on a large berm.
The driver, an 18-year-old male from the Municipality of Kincardine, was airlifted to a London hospital for treatment of serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.
The OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigation Unit is assisting the South Bruce OPP with this incident. The investigation continues.
