Downtown street closure should be reconsidered, says reader
To the Editor:
RE: “Kincardine to reconsider approval of Queen Street Promenade”

Reading this information and the survey about the closure of downtown Kincardine, does it truly help the businesses in the community?

The reason I'm saying this is because have you asked all the businesses if this has helped them?

I went downtown during this time frame and found no one was there, especially on a Sunday!

When you hurt one business from customers being unable to have access to that business, such as the hotel, how do you justify your decision that it's correct for every business?

Seniors are our biggest supporters of the businesses downtown, and if they do not access because of any disability, how is that fair?

I suggest that you close downtown on Friday, 5-9 p.m.; and Saturday, 1-9 p.m. Seniors usually have taken care of their needs in the morning or by early afternoon.

The closure of Queen Street to allow people to come downtown should be reconsidered. Let's be safe and do what is best for everyone.
