Reader thankful to get vaccination at Kincardine pharmacy
To the Editor:
On occasion, I comment upon discoveries in Kincardine that may cause harm to someone.
Today, I felt only thankfulness to participate in a local COVID-19 (Coronavirus) vaccination program offered at Gordon Pharmasave in downtown Kincardine.
It actually seems miraculous to receive a life-saving inoculation steps from my home, when other people either wait for hours in line, or their country has no access yet. I applaud the pharmacies for doing this, and I encourage anyone to access this simple, safe manner to be a part of the solution.
Fifty years ago, small pox was still an active fatal disease. Three years ago, we saw an emergence of measles for which most of us and our children were inoculated.
Vaccines work. They assist in our own "body-building" to fight something new.
Yes, we will need boosters - adaptation is part of the virus’ life and ours. Vaccinating now - building the immunity to limit its growth - IS essential.
Thanks,
