Queen Street Promenade should be a few hours one day only, says reader

Queen Street Promenade should be a few hours one day only, says reader
To the Editor:

I have mobility issues as do many others, and will not be able to access my bank or the library or any of my favourite downtown stores during the Queen Street Promenade this summer.

This includes the drug store even though there is parking at the back but would I be able to get the handicap space?

Allowing vendors to come in for the weekend and sell their products in front of taxpaying businesses is not productive to a harmonious downtown. And cutting off Harbour Street businesses is a real slap in the face.

Make the downtown a promenade for a few hours one day on the weekend and put the outside vendors in the park.

With Queen Street and Huron Terrace under construction, I'm surprised that the fire chief would allow the closure for a whole weekend.
