Readers sorry for loss of rheumatologist in Kincardine

To the Editor:
RE: “Medical specialist not welcomed in Kincardine”

I will be sad to see the rheumatoid specialist leave Kincardine.

I am a patient and I was glad to get prompt attention for my medical issues, and I didn’t have to travel anywhere.

I also felt that being referred to the specialist freed up time for my doctor to attend to someone else’s medical issues.

How unfortunate, all around, is this news.

I was asking for a referral to a rheumatologist in town and was told by the doctor’s office that she was closing her practice!

Perhaps the recruiting committee would consider more options when looking at new physicians? Was she willing to cover emergency room shifts?
