Purple Grove news

Saturday was such a great day for the wedding of Sarah Wray and Glen Farrell. Fran and Jim hosted the event – lots of room for everyone. Congratulations, Sarah and Glen! The Farrells have many travellers visiting with them.

Sincere sympathy is sent to Irene Liddle and her family on the death of her son, Jamie.

What a great turnout for the bridal shower for Brianne and Michelle Elliott in Ripley Thursday evening. An evening of lovely gifts, lots of visiting and good food. Thanks, ladies from the Bethel area. Another lovely shower was held Sunday for Lisa Hutchison of Toronto, daughter of Connie (Pollock) Hutchison. It is always good to get together with family and friends to share in the joy of the young women.

Thanks to the fellows (and helpers) of the Ripley Fire Department for a nourishing meal on Saturday, July 18. The mushball tournament folks appreciated it too.

Everyone who was able to attend the Finnie barn dance had a great time. The weather was perfect, the fun and fellowship most excellent.

Colleen and J.P. Greenwood and family visited with his grandparents, June and Earl Elliott of RVilla, Monday evening.

Peter Howell of Kelowna is visiting with his sister, Maureen and Roy Collins.

Ripley keeps looking better and better with all the decorating that is being done for the Reunion. If you come in from the north you will be greeted by Fred and Martha Ethel. They are a welcome addition to the village.

Mary Anne Kukoly visited with Ruth McCosh, and Joanne and Paul DeGraf, Sunday evening.
