Kincardine Guiding holds drive-by Advancement ceremony
With COVID-19 (Coronavirus) restrictions easing off a bit, the Kincardine Sparks, Brownies, Guides and Pathfinders, and their leaders finally were able to celebrate Advancement, marking the end of the spring session, Tuesday evening, June 22.
Held as a drive-by event, the leaders allowed only the members who were advancing to get out of their vehicles and attend to receive their awards and be welcomed into the next level of Guiding.
One Spark advanced to Brownies but was unable to attend.
Six Brownies advanced to Guides, and six Guides moved up to Pathfinders.
Two of the three Pathfinders, Ashlyn Moseley and Natalie Newton, received their Canada Cords, the highest award in Guiding. Also achieving her Canada Cord, was Layla Moffatt, who was unable to attend advancement, but received it at the Pathfinders’ bike-maintenance session, Saturday.
Guider Jaci Rowe, who was a Brownie leader for three years and left last May, received a gift from all of Kincardine Guiding for her hard work and dedication.
Guider Liz Dadson, who has been involved in Guiding for 20 years and is retiring, was also recognized and received a gift.
Registration for the 2021-22 year is now available on-line at
