Resident calls for outrage against loss of beauty along shoreline
To the Editor:
For those of you who moved to Kincardine to be close to Lake Huron or those who have stayed here to enjoy the summer breezes, take in the amazing sunsets, enjoy the tranquility of twilight, experience the wonder of a thunderstorm, sit in your car in the darkness and be calmed by the roll of the waves.
For those of you who come to the lake in the morning to enjoy your coffee in dark isolation before you start your day in the fall, winter and spring, your municipal government wants to change this:
To this:
If you don’t want this lighting in the Lambton Street parking lot, along the Lake Huron shoreline, I suggest you contact the mayor at
gglover@kincardine.ca, and the clerk at
clerk@kincardine.ca to copy all councillors. The council members' personal phone numbers are also listed on the municipal website at
www.kincardine.ca/en/municipal-office/mayor-and-council.aspx?_mid_=9216.
The only thing that will stop this is outrage. They don’t recognize social media support, or petitions.
If outrage fails, we lose this popular destination forever.
