Readers say Ripley is growing, RBC should remain open
To the Editor:
RE: “Township concerned about closure of RBC in Ripley”

RBC can best serve its clients in the area by remaining open!

To the Editor:

Whose "brilliant" idea was it to close the Ripley branch of RBC Royal Bank? We, as customers, weren't consulted in this regard!

RBC says that more and more customers within the past couple of years have been using on-line banking; well, yes, we have been in a COVID-19 pandemic since early 2020, and weren't able to access the bank. And, as well, business hours were changed.

Now the province is re-opening. Ripley is growing with new subdivisions being developed with an influx of more people likely to be wanting a nearby banking institution.

New businesses will be attracted to Ripley. Two have opened for business already. Businesses use banks and to have one so close by is a bonus.

The RBC is within walking distance of every business, the majority of citizens and two retirement living complexes. Who wants to drive to Kincardine to do their banking business, and especially during Bruce County winters?

We wanted to speak to someone at our branch recently, but due to the reduced hours, we had to travel to Kincardine. We do not want to travel to Kincardine to do our banking!

The RBC "powers that be" need to rethink this lame-brained decision. However, that is just my opinion and I am but one person.
