Feral cats best controlled through sterilization, says reader

RE: “Huron-Kinloss has no interest in regulating cats in the township”
Feral cats are best controlled through sterilization. Catch, fix and release is the best way - it has been proven in many studies.
If you remove animals, others will move in and replace them. If you catch, fix and release back to the colony, they keep other cats from moving in.
For every tom cat you fix, you stop hundreds of cats from being born.
Cats take care of rats and mice, as history has shown.
You want the problem solved, catch and fix these cats.
