Tuesday, a severe weather system tore through Huron-Kinloss, producing heavy rainfall, high winds and hail, resulting in downed trees, power outages and minor property damage. No injuries were reported.

“A huge shout-out to our first responders, hydro crews, and public works staff, for continuing to serve our residents through these challenging times,” said mayor Mitch Twolan. “As we work to clean up from this event, we ask for your patience.”

He said the public works department is clearing away downed trees and debris from public lands and roadways. Clean-up should be complete by the end of the week.

To report damage in public areas, contact the township through the Report-a-Problem web portal on the website at: www.huronkinloss.com/report-a-problem, call 519-395-3735 or send an E-mail message to: info@huronkinloss.com.

The Huron Landfill operating hours are Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Yard waste depots are open 24-hours per day at Concession 6 East, (just east of the Huron Landfill) and 907 Havelock St., Lucknow (beside the entrance to the Lucknow Soccer Fields).
