Readers differ in opinion about privacy concerns with vaccine certificates
To the Editor:
RE: “Group pushes for protection of personal medical information”

Hmmmm … where to begin?

I’m skeptical that the rally at the Davidson Centre was primarily to draw attention to “privacy” concerns regarding the newly-enacted vaccine certificates required to access various buildings and services.

Protesting under the cloak of privacy concerns does little to hide the real reasons behind the rally. I won’t give voice to those excuses - my blood pressure can’t handle it and my hair is already grey.

Obviously, none of the protesters has social media accounts, as everyone knows there is zero expectation of privacy on Facebook. The same when shopping on-line and signing up for loyalty programs.

I would expect Ms. Finlayson’s dire privacy concerns extend to her daily living. It must be extremely difficult forgoing the conveniences of a cell phone, a social media presence and the ease of receiving parcels at her front door.

When I proudly show my vaccine certificate, I’m pretty sure the person who eyeballs it doesn’t have a microchip that records my personal information. I don’t imagine I’m important enough to warrant that kind of attention.

If your privacy is such an all-consuming worry, I don’t understand why you’re out in public, putting your image out on the Internet, where it’s going to exist even after hell freezes over. So much for espousing privacy concerns.

To the Editor:

Thank you for the fair story you wrote about our stand for freedom. I am very grateful for the voice you gave us.

I am also very grateful that you wrote it fairly and with no negative undertones.

It just makes me so happy to be able to be represented without spin, so people can actually make their own decisions about our message of freedom.

Thank you,
