Let’s encourage girls in our surroundings to become change-makers
Annually, the International Day of the Girl Child is observed Oct. 11.

In Canada, we are strong advocates of respect for diversity and encouraging girls to reach their full potential.

According to United Nations (U.N.), “It is an inequity and exclusion gap across geographies and generations that is our challenge to address if the digital revolution is to be for all, with all, by all.”

Teenage girls go through an important phase, and need our support to empower them with the right tools so they can become change-makers by choosing a safe, educated, balanced and meaningful lifestyle.

Girls play a very important role in society as a worker, mother, spiritual guru, entrepreneur, mentor, homemaker, and political leader. The U.N. has many goals to achieving gender equality and women’s empowerment.

Each of us has to do our part to support and encourage our sisters, daughters, mothers, aunts, nieces, colleagues, neighbours, etc., to nourish and strengthen them to become future leaders, who can drive good and balanced growth around our family, community, and world.
