Good behaviour comes with rewards, says reader

RE: “Mixed response to Freedom Rally in Kincardine”
Well said, Sarah (Pelton), well said.
I’m pretty sure the rally attendees won’t read it. They don’t seem to care about anything much these days, other than the fierce protection of their personal freedoms. It’s obviously an all-consuming worry, keeping them up at night, causing much gnashing of teeth and clenched fists.
How difficult it must be for them, waking up in their warm homes, reaching into a full fridge, sending their well-dressed children safely off to school. It must be challenging, going about their day, fretting about the many daily infringements against their freedom of choice. Living in such an oppressed atmosphere is truly a daily hardship.
Even a toddler learns - eventually - that actions have consequences. A few tantrums here and there, the odd scream accentuated by a robust foot stomp and then the epiphany that good behaviour comes with rewards.
It’s a life lesson the vast majority of us learned, thankfully.
