Lack of transit service is concern for seniors' homes, says reader

I have to agree with the concerns about lack of service through Saugeen Mobility (SMART).

I work for a retirement home and every winter, we go to Owen Sound for dinner and then a drive to see the Christmas lights. This is an event that senior citizens from all the seniors’ residences look forward to every year. We also would go on weekend trips.

The schedule change at SMART has left us with few resources to give our seniors some outings. The issue was funding, but the seniors’ homes pay for each trip.

I have been shopping around for another transit service but there are few. I would like to see this resolved before the winter months and all the events that are coming up in the area.
