Decision to cut transit for seniors seems heartless, says reader

RE: “Gap in holiday transit service is unacceptable, says KASAAC chairman”

The lack of wheelchair-accessible service on weekends and holidays discriminates against people who cannot safely get in and ride in regular vehicles.

Several years ago, my father (now deceased) was able to attend our family Christmas because he could access SMART (Saugeen Mobility).

It is very sad to think that families could now be denied the opportunity to have their loved ones attend a family celebration in their final years.

The decision to cut services seems heartless to me.
