RE: “Mixed response to Freedom Rally in Kincardine”

We want to respond to Sarah Pelton’s letter to the editor of Oct. 19. We want to acknowledge her anger and the underlying fear that fuels it.

We all have been bombarded with unreasonable fear-mongering from our government and public-health officials for over a year-and-a-half now and it has worn us down, and yet it dismays us that this has resulted in an ‘us-versus- them’ divide in our community. All because of a viral infection that, at least according to Canada’s statistics, has a 99.93-per-cent survival rate or put another way, a death rate of 0.07 per cent which is similar to seasonal influenza.

The hardest hit sectors of the population were those directly under the care of a regulated health-care industry, namely long-term care. COVID-19 cases tend to ebb and flow according to the fluctuations normally seen during the cold and flu season. There is nothing abnormal about this.

Pelton further lambastes those who refuse to divulge their private and confidential medical information as being selfish and misguided, and goes on to state that we need to make sure we all do our share to keep our community safe and that means, get ‘vaccinated’. She further states that vaccination and following public health’s directives are the only way to reduce COVID-19 infections for what is a ‘vaccine preventable infection’.

There are several false assumptions in her statements.

We do not know if these experimental mRNA vaccines (which only meet a new 2020 definition of vaccine) actually do result in the reduction of COVID-19 because they are still in clinical trials until 2023 (see Pfizer trial at clinicaltrials.gov Trial ID NCT04368728). Therefore, we cannot call COVID-19 a ‘vaccine preventable illness’.

We do not know how effective these shots are, or will, be. We certainly do not know how safe they are, especially over the medium-term and definitely over the long-term because those studies are yet to be completed. You cannot complete cancer safety trials in 20 months. More importantly, we absolutely do not know the safety and efficacy profile for our children, a group that has practically a 100-per-cent survival rate of COVID-19 infection, compared to the jabs … what if the jabs cause more harm than good?

Additionally, both Pfizer and Moderna have stated the vaccines were only tested to prevent severe illness, not to prevent transmission. A significant number of COVID-19 infections resulting in hospitalizations currently occurring in Israel, are in the fully-vaccinated! Did the vaccines work as anticipated? Seems not!

As well, the CDC’s Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS,) as of Oct. 23, 2021, has reported more than 800,000 adverse events, including more than 17,000 deaths, and this may only be the tip of the iceberg as a study by Harvard Pilgrim Public Health concluded only one to 10 per cent of all adverse reactions get reported to this system (deaths were NOT found to be under-estimated). Can you imagine the devastation if opioids had been declared the only effective pain relief treatment and mandated for use when they were foisted upon society?

This brings us to the unconstitutionality of ‘vaccine’ mandates and ‘vaccine’ passports. The guiding principle of health care in Canada and most of the rest of the world, is ‘Informed Consent’. This means that every individual must be informed of all the possible benefits, as well as all the risks, even theoretical risks, of any given medical procedure, including the COVID-19 experimental injections, before agreeing to the procedure.

This concept of informed consent came about due to the Nuremberg Code which was created to prevent the atrocities that occurred in the German concentration camps during the Second World War. It’s impossible to give informed consent to an experimental injection that is still undergoing clinical trials. Mandates obliterate informed consent!

As well, in Canada, no vaccination is mandatory as there are exemptions allowed for medical, religious and philosophical reasons, and yet there are no exemptions allowed for this experimental injection as medical doctors have been told by their licensing boards not to grant them unless one has had an adverse reaction to the first jab. What kind of insanity is that? It goes against the most basic principles of medicine to ‘first do no harm’.

The use of passports further divides our community unnecessarily into ‘us-versus-them’! This is especially odious as the vaccinated are just as likely to spread infection as the un-vaccinated and instead, this passport creates a medical apartheid which is the antithesis of a free and democratic society where all are allowed freedom of movement and participation in society. Freedom is not a privilege, it’s a right! The rights enshrined in our Charter are only subject to reasonable limits prescribed by law as can be demonstrably justified in a free and democratic society.

Since when did reasonable and compassionate Canadians agree that we are no longer allowed freedom to choose what we put into our bodies, that we are no longer allowed freedom of bodily autonomy and most importantly, we are no longer allowed to maintain our private and confidential medical information?

Is it okay if someone were to ask you, “Are you on anti-psychotic medications?” “Are you having fertility issues?” “What about your erectile dysfunction?” “How’s the opioid addiction?” “Have you ever had an STD?”

Our medical freedom does not end where your fear begins! Until this past year, did you ever care if your friends, family, co-workers, etc., had their flu shots or were up-to-date on their boosters? I suspect your answer is no, and that’s because those questions were irrelevant to your personal health and well-being. We are responsible for our health and that is our sole obligation under our social contract. If we are healthy, we are not spreading illness! When did that truth become suspect?

As for the COVID-19 mRNA vaccines, we are happy to wait until these clinical trials are completed in the spring of 2023, when the data will be collected, analyzed, submitted for peer review, then published, at which point we shall reassess our concerns on efficacy and safety. Until then, we are happy to do what we need to do to maintain a healthy and robust immune system and refuse to be a lab rat for pharmaceutical corporations. That is our choice and it’s a choice that is protected under the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms.

Since when has exercising our God-given rights been considered an act of treasonous defiance! God help our country.
