South Bruce OPP report accident on Highway 21; and impaired driver in Walkerton

ACCIDENT ON HIGHWAY 21, SOUTH OF REID'S CORNERS

(HURON TWP, ON)
– The South Bruce OPP is investigating an accident that happened Saturday, Aug. 15, around noon, on Highway 21, just south of the 4th Concession of Huron Township.
 
Police report that a northbound grey Hyundai Accent turned left (west) in front of a southbound black Honda Odyssey van. The van swerved to avoid the car and left the roadway, rolling over before coming to rest in the east ditch. 

There was no mention of serious injuries or charges. The investigation continues.
 

IMPAIRED DRIVER FACING DAY IN COURT
 

(WALKERTON, ON) – Aug. 19, at 8:13 p.m., a South Bruce OPP officer on patrol along Elgin Street in Walkerton, stopped a green Toyota Corolla. 

The officer found that the driver had been drinking alcohol. Forty-Eight-year-old Rodney SIMMONS of Brockton has been charged with operate over-80 milligrams, drive with no insurance and improper muffler. He is scheduled to appear in court Sept. 21, to answer to the charges.
