It was bright and sunny Friday afternoon but the high wind made the Lake Huron water choppy, as the Toronto Brigantine tall ships, "Pathfinder" and "Playfair," sailed into Kincardine Harbour for the second annual Kincardine Marine Heritage Festival this weekend.
A good crowd, including the Kincardine Scottish Pipe Band, welcomed the ships and their crew, with great fanfare as they navigated their way into the harbour, while waves crashed around them.

Decked out in period costume were Peter Humble and Graham Mahood of the festival committee, along with Sarafina Pagnotta, Deanna Gleeson and Carolyn Diemert of the Walker House.

The Marine Heritage Festival featured a sunset cruise Friday night, with the bulk of activities Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., at the harbour and in Macpherson Park.
This year’s theme is "Search and Rescue" and the festival will feature nautical activities for adults and children, including tours of the tall ships, the Kincardine Lighthouse and Marine Museum, the Walker House Heritage Centre, and Artisan’s Alley on the north pier, as well as the Community Foundation Grey Bruce ‘Ahoy - Kids Art Zone’ at Macpherson Park.
