Pine River Cheese Curd Festival draws a crowd
If you had a hankering for cheese curds, then the Pine River Cheese Curd Festival was the place to be, last weekend, Aug. 15-16.
Groups lined up for the cheese-curd-eating contest Saturday, and children enjoyed the many great activities, including face-painting, balloon animals, bingo, and meeting the Pine River Cheese mouse mascot.
The event marked the 130th anniversary of the Pine River Cheese and Butter Co-operative, located south of Kincardine on Highway 21.
Also on Saturday, were wine and cheese tasting, and a concert by Tia McGraff.
Sunday, featured a church service, followed by a coffee and tea social gathering and activities for the children.
