Kincardine hospital foundation on-line 50-50 lottery is win-win for all

There is a great opportunity for the Kincardine community to support the Kincardine and Community Health Care Foundation, through the recently-launched on-line 50-50 lottery.

In spite of the COVID-19 pandemic and the various variants, including Omicron, the hospital foundation must still purchase much-needed equipment to keep up the services and the procedures at our Kincardine hospital.

Due to the pandemic, some of the fund-raising projects have been curtailed, but we now have this on-line 50-50 which began in the fall, and like some Ontario hospitals that have raised thousands of dollars for equipment and services, we hope our community can grow our draw and we all benefit.

This is where you help. You get a better odds contest to win substantial cash monthly by buying tickets through the hospital foundation’s website.

Tickets are:
 

• 200 for $40
• 50 for $20
• 10 for $10

We need the community to continue to support the foundation, and we want someone to win 50 per cent of the draw. The foundation’s share goes directly into equipment purchases – currently, a Cardiac Ultrasound and accessories at a cost of $224,000. Our overall 2021 annual budget for capital expenditures is more than $972,500 not counting the CT Scanner.

As a past director and president of the foundation and now a member of the fund-raising committee, I continue to see the need to work with the community in order to keep our hospital up-to-date with equipment, to maintain services, and retain and attract doctors. It may sound cliched but it is real and so important for us all.

So, why not have some fun with the 50-50 draw - it really is a win-win for all.
